The words “faux fur” used to make my skin crawl, wait; lets be real- faux anything makes my skin crawl. But, I will grit my teeth and say that I am impressed with the faux fur pieces that are poping up on store racks and reatil websites! Remember, if you are going to indulge in the faux luxury then please follow a few rules!
The rules of faux fur are easy: 1. You do not want to every look like a muppet, stuffed animal, or hooker. 2. Don’t get it wet or you will look like a wet dog. 3. Beware but not afraid of color or pattern. They are the most likely to cross over into the hooker/ pimp arena.
After spending the past week in New York, all I can think about is sweaters!!!!! Fall is my favorite fashion time of year, and first thing on my list is SWEATERS! Check out a few of my picks in the sweater department – all on SALE!
No girl loves her heels more than me but, I have to admit I am warming up to the comfortable shoe trend! I have been excited to see celebs embracing this fashion trend since, as we all know, it isn’t acceptable to wear something until the Hollywood set is wearing it! This trend has even made it’s way to the red carpet.
What is great about this trend is that you can still be sexy, cute and feminine while adding a dash of sporty to any look and the bonus is; you are ready to kick ass at any moment if need be! Espadrilles, Converse, Toms, or Wedge High-tops all the designers, high and low, are joining the fun. My favorite way to wear them is to pair them with skinny jeans and a t-shirt or a casual dress.
Please note that this post is about “comfortable” shoes, that is not the same thing as the “ugly” shoe trend- those are not trendy, just ugly.
Here a few of my favorite comfortable yet fabulous shoes available now!
My mother once told me that a proper lady does not wear white after Labor Day. Well, I am not a proper lady and it is well after Labor Day…I am wearing white! After all, rules are made to be broken… I can not find any real origin of this “rule” but I imagine it was made up by someone who did not live in Los Angeles and was thought up well before global warming.
I understand this might be easy to accept from a Los Angeles girl, but I am telling you white can be incorporated into your fall and winter wardrobe no matter where you live! The secret to most fashion rules is that they are really not rules at all! They are more like guidelines, and while I would admit you probably wont see me in white linen pants at a Holiday Party, white will definitely be a big part of my fall and winter wardrobe this year!
I have complied a bunch of my favorite Winter Whites! Isn’t rule breaking so much fun, Happy Shopping!
